The Book

One woman shares with young people part of her life’s story from an unremarkable childhood to become a successful scientist. Dr. Nancy Ho invented the special yeast that can convert all the world’s renewable resources (plant materials such as wood from trees, grasses, straws, etc. that can reproduce year after year, collectively known as cellulosic biomass) to ethanol fuel and potentially also to other fuels and useful products such as chemicals for medicine and industry.

She hopes her successful story may help shape the lives of young people. She wants young people to know that they can overcome difficulties by working a little harder, no matter how difficult their lives may seem.
